Join us Sunday, April 23, 2023, for "Playing Outside the Rhythm: Unlocking Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) through Jazz Improvisation." at WOSU Headquarters, 1800 N. Pearl Street, Columbus, Ohio 43201.
This roundtable discussion features international and national experts from Jazz music, education, DEIA, innovation, journalism, nonprofit, and arts administration.
Reception: 1:00 p.m.
Panel Discussion: 2:00 p.m. followed by Q&A
In Jazz music, playing outside the rhythm means playing notes or rhythms that are unexpected or unconventional, which can create tension, dissonance, and new possibilities for musical expression.
Similarly, unlocking DEIA requires breaking free from traditional ways of thinking and acting and exploring new perspectives and approaches that embrace diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
This panel aims to bring forth new ideas and perspectives, which can lead to more innovative and inclusive solutions to complex social and cultural challenges.
We hope you will enjoy what is sure to be a dynamic conversation and transformative experience.
