A Tribe for Jazz Unveils their Groundbreaking Multidisciplinary Initiative “Exploration” with a Film Premiere and Discussion at CCAD

On Thursday, April 11th, as part of the 2024 Jazz Appreciation Month celebration, A Tribe for Jazz, in partnership with the Columbus College of Art and Design, will premiere their latest documentary short, “Exploration,” at the CCAD Canzani Center, 60 Cleveland Avenue, Columbus, OH 43215. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for a light reception, with the film screening at 6:00 p.m. The screening will be followed by a Q&A moderated by Andriel Ugbomeh, MSSA, LSW, and Founder of Healing Without Limits, and include A Tribe for Jazz, Executive Director Stephanie Matthews, and Certified Art Therapist Maggi Colwwell, MS, ATR-BC. Space is limited, and RSVP is required.

ABOUT THE FILM

"Exploration" is a poignant docu-short produced by A Tribe for Jazz and filmed/edited by Dean Taylor. The film illuminates A Tribe for Jazz's 2023 case study of its groundbreaking multidisciplinary initiative, which integrates mindfulness, Jazz music, and art-making to facilitate emotional exploration and enhance well-being in adults.

Through captivating storytelling, "Exploration" delves into the transformative journey of its participants as they navigate a landscape defined by empathy and vulnerability. Guided by the evocative power of Jazz music and artistic expression, the film illuminates the newfound clarity and resilience that emerges from this immersive experience.
